John Storie, a long time fly tyer and fly fisher had traveled the
Hammond River in New Brunswick for years. He admired the beauty
of the riverside and always enjoyed catching the salmon and
trout from his favourite pools. On October 15th, the last
day of the fishing season and the last season large salmon could
be taken, John had the strike of a lifetime. He felt a jerk at
the end of his line and something chomped down on his Chief, an
